A Research Team from Kirkuk and Clemson Universities Publishes Joint Study in International Journal

A research team consisting of Dr. Saad Ali Mohammed Hussein, a faculty member in the Department of Animal Production at the College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk, in collaboration with researchers from Clemson University (USA), has published a scientific paper in the journal Animals, which is published by the international publisher MDPI. The journal is classified as Q1 in Scopus and Clarivate, with a Citescore of 5.2 and an Impact Factor of 2.7.

The researcher stated that the study addressed "Simulating Precision Feeding of High-Concentrate Diets with High-Fat Inclusion and Different Plant-Based Saturated, Unsaturated, and Animal Fat Sources in Continuous Culture Fermenters."

He added that the study aimed to simulate a Precision Feeding System, where feed is provided to ruminants in an isoenergetic and isonitrogenous manner, with the goal of reducing Dry Matter Intake (DMI) by adding different sources of saturated and unsaturated fats, using a Rumen Fermentation device known as the Continuous Culture system.
