Assistant Professor Dr. Metin Yilmaz Azzidin, Head of the Department of Forestry Sciences at the College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk, participated as a committee member in the defense of a master’s thesis by student Hind Abdulhameed Rashid from the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering at the College of Agriculture, University of Diyala.

Dr. Azzidin clarified that the thesis examined "The Effect of Arginine and Tryptophan Acid Treatments on Growth, Flowering, and Corm Yield of Gladiolus Plants."

He added that the study aimed to investigate the impact of:

  • - Arginine treatments at concentrations of 0, 50, 100, and 150 mg/L,

  • - Tryptophan treatments at concentrations of 0, 100, 150, and 200 mg/L,
on the growth, flowering, and corm production of Gladiolus plants.

The research provides insights into optimizing amino acid applications for enhancing ornamental plant cultivation and crop efficiency.
