University of Kirkuk Organizes Symposium on Divorce Awareness: Causes and Prevention

The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Division, organized an awareness symposium titled “Divorce: Risks and Root Causes,” attended by faculty, staff, and students.

The symposium featured two lectures by Dr. Kawthar Hakim Ibrahim and Dr. Dhikra Ahmed Hassan, who emphasized that divorce is not merely a separation but a societal issue with far-reaching impacts. They identified key causes, including:

Lack of compatibility in material, cultural, and social aspects of marriage.

Early marriage, which often leads to insufficient emotional and social preparedness.
