In response to recent advancements in agriculture and the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) and its applications in improving the quality and yield of agricultural products through cost-effective and eco-friendly methods—and in alignment with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the University of Kirkuk to modernize academic departments—the College of Agriculture has formed a committee to study the establishment of a Smart Agriculture Department.
Assistant Professor Dr. OsamaH Ibrahim Ahmed, Dean of the College, stated that the committee held its inaugural meeting under his supervision to draft a proposal for the new department. The plan includes updating scientific curricula, discussing ideas proposed by the committee, and refining solutions to develop a comprehensive strategy for submission to the ministry to secure official approvals.
