A research team consisting of Assistant Lecturer Issam Saeed Omar from the College of Agriculture, and Assistant Lecturer Rawizh Dilshad Sadiq from the College of Medicinal and Industrial Plants at the University of Kirkuk, in collaboration with Dr. Ahmed Sami Shaker from the Directorate of Agricultural Research in Sulaymaniyah, published a scientific study in the Indonesian journal Academia Open. The study was conducted in the fields of the Animal Production Department at the College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk.
The research team explained that their study aimed to investigate the effect of age at sexual maturity on the external qualitative traits of Japanese quail eggs.
They added that their findings concluded that the age of sexual maturity had a significant effect on the external qualitative characteristics of the eggs and showed a strong statistical correlation. These results are useful for selecting the appropriate age for sexual maturity in breeding programs.
