The Department of Horticulture and Garden Engineering at the College of Agriculture organized a scientific visit for first-year students (as part of the Principles of Food Industries course) to the Karwanchi Group of Companies, a producer of soft drinks and juices. This initiative aligns with the college’s strategy to enhance theoretical learning with practical field visits to agricultural and industrial facilities.
Dr. Mustafa Mohammed Omar, the academic supervisor of the visit, explained that the trip aimed to:
-
- Introduce students to laboratory tests conducted on soft drinks and juices.
-
- Tour storage facilities for packaging materials.
-
- Observe the full production line, from product preparation to final packaging.
The visit provided students with hands-on insights into industrial processes, bridging classroom knowledge with real-world applications in food technology and production.
