The Soil and Water Resources Department at the College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk, organized a scientific visit for third and fourth-year students to the Directorate of Irrigation and Drainage Projects Maintenance in Kirkuk, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Water Resources.
Dr. Salah Jassim Amin, Head of the Soil and Water Resources Department, explained that the department arranged a field visit to the mechanical workshop in the industrial area, affiliated with the Directorate. The visit aimed to:

- Strengthen practical and applied aspects of the academic curriculum by bridging theoretical concepts with real-world practices in irrigation, drainage, and land reclamation.

- Introduce students to key maintenance technologies used in these projects and provide hands-on understanding of maintenance processes.
Dr. Amin emphasized that such initiatives reflect the college and department’s commitment to integrating fieldwork with academic learning, equipping students with the technical skills needed to address challenges in water resource management and agricultural infrastructure.
